An online degree in nursing from Misericordia is designed to fit in your schedule so you can earn your degree and still stay engaged in your life. Plus, we make sure our admission requirements offer the flexibility to open up opportunities to as many qualified students as possible.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission into our predominantly online nursing programs, you must have:

MSN Program

  • BSN from an accredited institution
    • Minimum BSN GPA of 3.00 for MSN applicants
  • Unencumbered registered nurse license

Post-Master Certificates

  • MSN from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Unencumbered registered nurse license and APRN certification*

DNP Program

BSN to DNP Track

  • BSN from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.25
  • Unencumbered registered nurse license

MSN to DNP Track

  • MSN from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0**
  • Unencumbered registered nurse license and APRN certification*

*APRN credentials in one of four: Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
**Master’s in Nursing must be as a nurse practitioner, certified registered nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist, or certified nurse midwife.

You must also provide the following:

  • Online application
  • Official transcripts
  • Resume or curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of reference
  • Statement of personal and professional goals

A simple and straightforward admissions process.

Applying to a university should never be a challenge. We strive to make sure we keep the process simple while still obtaining all the information we need.

  • Misericordia has a rolling admissions cycle, but we recommend that you complete your application at least six weeks before the start of the intended enrollment term, as the space available in certain programs can be limited.
  • There is no application fee for online nursing students.
  • You should expect to hear from us within 2-3 weeks of submitting your application and any required supporting documents. You may also receive a call from your enrollment advisor requesting more information to complete the process.
